cancellation Policy
Cancellation and Insurance
Your booking will be confirmed upon receipt of a 25% deposit, to be paid within one week of confirmation of your booking. The balance of the amount due is to be paid not less than 8 weeks prior to the beginning of your stay.
If the booking is made for a start date that is 8 weeks or less from the booking date, then the full payment will be required within a week of our confirmation of the booking. Payment can be made by direct bank transfer, cheque or [paypal].
If you wish to cancel the booking, please advise us by email.
Cancellation charges as follows: more than 7 days before the commencement of the holiday, you will recieve a full refund and there will be an no administration fees. If you cancel the day before arrival, we can offer you an alternative date within 12 months of the original booking date. Cancelleation within 7 days of check in date or a no show will be 100% of the cost of booking, However If we are able to re-let the property, we will refund the total cost of the booking minus any administration fees. If we are only successful in re-letting part of your holiday and the value of the re-let is less than your outstanding balance of hire, you will also be held responsible for the difference. If we cannot re-let and the cancellation date is within 1 days of the start of your holiday, then you will be held responsible for the prompt payment of the full cost. All of your liabilities as stated above may be covered if you have Cancellation Insurance and your reason for cancellation is one of those covered.
We will require a security deposit payment of £150, payable with the final booking payment, which will be refunded in full on cancellation, or on satisfactory handover of the property.
We recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover any potential costs should you need to cancel your holiday.
Non-availability of Accommodation
We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control and we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Cottage policy
Loch Cottages are no-smoking properties.
The price of the accommodation includes: Electricity, linen, towels, cleaning, hot water, central heating and any extra equipment that we have agreed to provide.
Additional Guests/Dogs-Please inform us of any additional guests and/or dogs who may stay overnight in the cottage. Well behaved dogs may be welcomed and provided for by prior arrangement only.
For Health & Safety and insurance requirements we need to ensure that only those entitled to stay are staying in the cottage. We therefore reserve the right to ask you to leave without refund if you exceed the agreed number of people and/or dogs.
Arrival
Loch Cottages will be available to you from 4pm on the day of arrival, and the keys will be left in the key safe unless otherwise arranged. We may not be able to accommodate you if you arrive earlier than the agreed time as we will be busy preparing the cottage. You will be sent details of how to find the property and details of how to gain access when we confirm your booking.
Departure
Please be ready to leave the Loch Cottages by 10am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. Late departures mean that we may not be able to get the cottage ready for our incoming guests on time.
WIFI
Starlink Wi-Fi is available in both Wattie and Scott with a backup system prodided by Broadway. We are aware that people do not visit this beautiful area to stay online 24/7 , you can though work from home enjoying the beautiful surrounding and loch.
Damages and Breakages
Please take care when staying in our property. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages, which you cause, to the accommodation or its contents. All we ask is that you report any incidents as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we reserve the right to deduct money from your refundable security deposit for loss of income, repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant.
Liability
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
privacy Policy
We are aware of our obligations from 25 May 2018 to comply with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
If you make an enquiry with us and are not able to book, we do not keep any record of you.
When you make a booking we will keep your details in our password protected business email programme and on our password protected computer. We will also have a note in our accounts of your payments. We are required for tax reasons to keep these payment records for 7 years
Our booking form asks only for details relevant to your stay and those which we are obliged to obtain by law. These details will be used for the purposes of managing your booking and any matters that may arise from your booking.
